Women's Health teams celebrated for support provided to trainees

The Obstetrics and Gynaecology teams at both Peterborough City and Hinchingbrooke Hospitals are boosting their reputation as a great place for trainees to learn with excellent feedback scores in two separate national surveys completed by doctors in training.

The Speciality Education Advisory Committee at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists has rated Hinchingbrooke Hospital’s Obstetrics and Gynaecology Team in the top 10 performing units in the country as a result of being ‘highly recommended’ by the trainees working in the unit in the past year.

The annual General Medical Council-run survey that assesses the training provided by all units across the UK, in all specialties and across all programme groups, and scores feedback from both trainees and trainers, has listed Peterborough City Hospital in the top 3 training units in the UK following glowing feedback from trainees who have completed rotations there.

Dr Steve Havenga, Director of Medical Education at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Both these achievements are testament to the dedication and outstanding teaching and training delivered by the teams in the two units at our Trust. It is fantastic how we all work together to support our trainees and invest the time to ensure they receive the best experiences possible with us. Ultimately this is great news for patients who receive the best quality care from our clinicians.”
