While many of us have spent the week dodging the wet, windy and stormy weather - spare a thought for fundraising supermarket manager Darren Mooney.
Darren ran 28 miles between Sainsburys stores in Bretton, Peterborough and Kettering in a single day!
Marathon man Darren took on the gruelling challenge to raise almost £500 for the volunteer fund of North West Anglia Hospitals' Charity.
And if that wasn't impressive enough, he has completed a total of 119 miles so far, running from his base in Bretton to other Sainsburys stores in Peterborough's Oxney Road, March, Spalding, Huntingdon and latterly, Kettering.
Darren presented a cheque for £438 to Donna Erskine-White from the Charity team and one of his biggest fans, his sister and Volunteer Services Co-Ordinator at Peterborough City Hospital, Claire Lucia-Wright.
Claire said: "I am blown away by Darren's achievement and a massive well done from all the volunteers on behalf of all the patients, visitors and staff we support.”
Darren added: “I wanted to support the amazing team of hospital volunteers who give their time to help patients and staff, providing a reassuring presence and a friendly smile during times which can be difficult for many.
“Volunteers do so much to personalise the hospital experience; from helping visitors find their way to running errands for patients on the wards and offering a listening ear to those who need it. Every donation will help them continue their fantastic work.”
And for his next challenge, Darren is planning the 31-mile run from his Bretton base to Sainsbury's in Grantham! And if anyone would like to support Darren in is fundraising efforts then you can do so here North West Anglia Hospitals Charity: Darrens sainsburys to sainsburys challenge
