Total Hip and Knee Replacement and revision surgery is conducted at Hinchingbrooke Hospital within our special Orthopaedic operating theatres. Our team on The Elective Ward at Hinchingbrooke Hospital will care for you in your post-operative stage and you will receive a multi-disciplinary approach to your care. The therapy team play an active role in your rehabilitation and you may be referred for ongoing therapy on discharge if required. Once discharged if you have any questions or concerns while you are at home then you can contact the Arthroplasty Specialist Nurses who can offer telephone advice and also arrange an earlier review if required. You will have your post-operative appointments at either Peterborough or Hinchingbrooke hospital (depending on your address) where you will see either your Orthopaedic consultant or and Arthroplasty Specialist Nurse.
If you need to speak to a Consultant Secretary, please contact the hospital switchboard on 01480 416416.
Our team of Arthroplasty Specialist Nurses work alongside our Orthopaedic Consultants in the care you receive following your hip or knee replacement. They offer the Joint Replacement Clinic which you may be invited to before you attend for your operation – this will give you information about your hip and knee replacement. They undergo the relevant training for surgical assistance and will assist the Orthopaedic Consultants in theatre with your surgery. You may see our Arthroplasty Specialist Nurse while you are an inpatient on the ward as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team approach to your care. Your post-operative check in the Orthopaedic Clinic may be with our team of Arthroplasty Specialist Nurses where they will chat about your recovery, check your wound, review your range of movement in the joint and also discuss how to continue with your recovery. If you have any questions then please contact the Arthroplasty Specialist Nurses on the number below (voicemail available)
