Volunteers' Week 2024

Join us as we celebrate 40 years of Volunteers’ Week and look to inspire more people to make a difference. During the week, we will be introducing you to some of the amazing volunteers from the 500 strong team!

On Tuesday we held a delightful lunch complete with games and a disco, funded by North West Anglia Hospitals' Charity!  In the afternoon, we awarded certificates and badges to our dedicated long-serving volunteers.

Thank you to all of our incredible volunteers for your incredible contributions!  #VolunteersWeek

“I have been volunteering at Stamford and Rutland Hospital for 9 years.  I thoroughly enjoy my time at the hospital, in particular talking to the patients and putting them at ease.

“My main role is to meet and greet patients on their arrival to the Hospital and signpost them to the relevant clinic/department. I have been known to take them there in a wheelchair if needed.

“I play an instrumental part in managing the bra bank; packaging them up to be forwarded to the central Bra Bank. I also assist with the selling of books on behalf of the Friends of Stamford; manning the occasional book stall to raise additional funds for the Hospital.”
