Join us as we celebrate 40 years of Volunteers’ Week and look to inspire more people to make a difference. During the week, we will be introducing you to some of the amazing volunteers from the 500 strong team!
On Tuesday we held a delightful lunch complete with games and a disco, funded by North West Anglia Hospitals' Charity! In the afternoon, we awarded certificates and badges to our dedicated long-serving volunteers.
Thank you to all of our incredible volunteers for your incredible contributions! #VolunteersWeek
“We joined Hinchingbrooke Volunteer Service in May 2022 after COVID, as Ward Support Volunteers. We wanted to give back to the NHS after the pandemic, so threw ourselves into Volunteering!”
Jo Travers, Volunteer Coordinator at Hinchingbrooke said: “Between Penny and Lionel, they have already donated a fabulous 1,350 hours, served thousands of cups of tea and chatted to hundreds of patients! Penny and Lionel are unstoppable! They both currently support on the wards but have also helped with our COVID + Flu Vaccination clinics. Lionel helped our volunteer gardeners with their summer projects and Penny even carries on volunteering when she gets home by getting her sewing machine out and making mastectomy cushions and all sorts of other items for our patients! Penny and Lionel love their Volunteering and it is a privilege to have them on the Team!”
