Volunteers' Week 2024

Join us as we celebrate 40 years of Volunteers’ Week and look to inspire more people to make a difference. During the week, we will be introducing you to some of the amazing volunteers from the 500 strong team!

On Tuesday we held a delightful lunch complete with games and a disco, funded by North West Anglia Hospitals' Charity!  In the afternoon, we awarded certificates and badges to our dedicated long-serving volunteers.

Thank you to all of our incredible volunteers for your incredible contributions!  #VolunteersWeek

Paul - Meet & Greet Volunteer – Hinchingbrooke

Paul - Meet & Greet Volunteer – Hinchingbrooke

“I joined the Hinchingbrooke Volunteer Service in February 2023 starting as a Meet & Greet Volunteer supporting our Outpatients in the Treatment Centre.  Welcoming them to the Hospital and taking them to their relevant clinics.  I like taking people to the different departments and because I love volunteering so much I come three times a week now!

“I’m ready for a fresh challenge and have joined our new volunteer Pharmacy Runners Team where, twice a week, I move between the pharmacy and the wards delivering medications for patients who are due to be discharged. I am also about to join our new Learning, Disability & Autism Support Team to support some of our most vulnerable patients.”

Jo Travers , Volunteer Coordinator, said “Paul is a wonderful Volunteer and such a character! Everybody loves him and he is an inspiration to everybody who meets him!  Upbeat, funny and always eager to help, we’d be lost without him!”
