Local hospital successfully hosts East of England Regional Event

Peterborough City Hospital successfully hosted another East of England Regional event for Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) on Tuesday 3 October.

The event, titled ‘International Recruitment Celebration & Leadership Event’ showcased the contribution that internationally educated AHPs bring to the Trust’s workforce. It was organised by the Trust’s own AHP Team who provide support in education for both undergraduate and postgraduate AHPs. They also work to promote further development and career opportunities including international recruitment, offering pastoral support and helping to improve staff retention.

Louise Tibbert, Chief People Officer for the Trust, said: “It’s fabulous that we were able to host another event for the regional team. The previous event was a great success and it’s been great to build on that and bring another fabulous event to both our staff and staff from the region.”

Group of people standing together smiling The day included a guest panel who spoke about the AHP strategy for England, Leadership and Compassionate Culture. There was also an opportunity to hear shared experiences from a panel and networking which gave staff the ability to speak to other AHPs and the speakers.

Raj Thirunageswaram, Assistant Director of Allied Health Professionals, said: “Being able to host events like this in collaboration with the region is crucial to helping staff and employers know what support and resources are available to them and hear from professionals to contribute to shared learning and networking.”
